Quorn Meat-Free Taco Bowl

Salsa Roja

  • 300g tomatoes, about 3 medium-sized
  • 100g white onion, about half of large
  • ½ cup red bell pepper, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 piece siling labuyo (optional)

Quorn Meat Filling

  • 400g Quorn Meat Free Mince
  • ½ cup carrot, shredded
  • 1 cup white onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp. taco seasoning
  • 2 tsp. cumin, optional
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 4 tbsp. cooking oil


  • 6 pieces crispy taco bowls
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup white onion, diced
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves, picked and washed


For the Salsa Roja

  1. Char the tomatoes, bell pepper, garlic, and chili over an open flame, or place them under a broiler until slightly blackened and softened.
  2. Place all the vegetables and all of the remaining ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

For the Quorn meat filling

  1. Set a pan to medium heat. Add the oil.
  2. Add carrots and onion and cook until cooked through.
  3. Add the Quorn Mince and all of the remaining ingredients.
  4. Fry for about 10 minutes or until the Quorn is cooked through and golden brown. Set aside.

Assembling the taco

  1. Evenly divide shredded lettuce into the taco bowls.
  2. Top with Quorn meat filling, salsa roja, cheddar cheese, diced white onions, and cilantro leaves and serve
